Urgent Appeal for Diplomatic Intervention for the Release of Nepali Citizen Bipin Joshi

To
H.E. Shmulik Arie Bass
Ambassador of the State of Israel to Nepal

Your Excellency,

We, the Dr. Sandesh Lamsal Foundation, write with concern and unyielding hope to request the safe return of Bipin Joshi, a 23-year-old Nepali student who was kidnapped by Hamas terrorists on October 7, 2023. Bipin travelled to Israel as part of the government's "Learn and Earn" agricultural exchange program, but was caught up in a brutal, direct attack by Hamas on Kibbutz Alumim. Although his heroic deed saved many lives, he has been separated from his loved ones for more than 680 days while being taken hostage by Hamas.

Bipin's sister, Ms Pushpa Joshi, and mother, Mrs Padma Joshi, are presently in Israel, meeting with key figures, including President Isaac Herzog, and appealing for his release. Their calls have been heard throughout the world, and millions of people are hoping for Bipin Joshi's immediate release. As a well-known figurehead in global diplomacy, we urge you to utilise all of your leverage to make Bipin's rescue an urgent priority.

Nepal has sought out mediators such as Egypt and Qatar, but relatively little has been accomplished. To support the release of Bipin Joshi and the other captives, we request you to raise this situation at the United Nations or in the next diplomatic discussions. The destiny of a young Nepali citizen hinges on the prompt, compassionate, and negotiable action of Israel and Hamas, and mankind is monitoring this issue very closely.

We trust in your dedication to justice, and we look forward to hearing from you.
